 • Post your workout routine

This thread is for posting your workout rountine.

I always start out my rountine by doing yoga as a warmup. Starting with 5 rounds of Sun Salutation A followed by 5 rounds of Sun Salutation B.

After that I have worked up a little sweat and proceed to do about 6 more postures.

After the final downward dog of Sun Salutation B I step my right leg forward and let my left knee come to the floor in a lunge position. Except from there I increase the stretch of the lunge by slowly lowering my head to the floor. After five breaths, I keep my left leg behind me and lower my front knee to the floor. As with all these stretches I hold here for five breaths, then swing my rear leg around and bend forward. When I've completed this I do what is called a vinyasa (Step 1, Step 2, Step 3), from there do an upward dog and then downward dog. From downward dog I repeat these steps for the left side and then jump back through to a seated position and do a seated forward bend followed by the hurdler stretch on both sides. When completed with this then I twist my back on both sides and then lay back and do a bridge on my hands.

Finally, I am done warming up and hard part is next. For my weight training I just started following a program called Crossfit, which is a program that combines powerlifting (e.g. squats and deadlifts), olympic lifts (e.g. snatch and clean and jerk), and gymnastics (which means anything where the goal is control of the body, meaning, not only gymnastics but things such as yoga or dance). I would recommend that you checkout the free issue of the Crossfit Journal for an explanation of their training philosophy.

When finished with my weight training I do my yoga routine again exept this time with out the sun salutations.
