Our mission is diverse,CMMA is the home of a fight team. We
train and manage amateur and pro MMA fighters, CMMA is a functional
strength and agility training center for all sports, CMMA is a self
defense skills gym, and CMMA is a fitness center providing interesting
ways to get into incredible shape for anyone.
Effective July 5, 2010 CMMA Fighting Systems is currently one of the top MMA fight teams in the Midwest. At the same time CMMA provides non-fighters with new and interesting ways to get into great shape, and provides sports specific training for high school and college athletes. With that said, it is my goal to have CMMA become THE best MMA fight team, and not just one of the best. It is time to reorganize and refocus in order to achieve that. This year several fighters will become pros and we have been getting into bigger shows with higher exposure on television etc, and it is necessary to make these changes in order to keep pace with the competition. My goal is to retain the .family. attitude we have at this gym while providing the structure and support for those young fighters that want to be the very best. Our new format will be: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5-9pm .Fighter training sessions 5-6pm advanced instruction (standup, clench, grappling, etc.) 6-7pm fighter conditioning/cardio 7-8pm live competition 8-9pm individualized training and discussion Non fighters are welcome to participate in the instruction session if they have already achieved a basic knowledge of our system, and are also welcome to participate in the conditioning/cardio (for those who have participating in cardio kickboxing this will be familiar but intense). Non fighters who wish to participate in the instruction session may want to bring a practice partner. Non fighter members still have access to the gym during all business hours, and are still welcome to participate in all classes except actual live fighter training. Tuesday 5-9pm 5-6pm functional weight training/caveman 6-7pm beginner standup (Bruce will teach stick and knife skills from 6-8pm, and is available for privates from 8-9pm) 7-8pm beginning grappling 8-9pm drilling and live submission grappling Thursday 5-9pm same format as Tuesday, but no stick and knife Saturday and Sunday are now open for fights, sprint workouts, long runs, and barbeques. The gym will not be open for normal business hours.
Membership requirements: Students must be 15 years old or in high school to participate in the regular curriculum. We will be attempting to fill a kids program for Saturdays 10am-1pm. This will be group personal training taught by a pair of CMMA instructors and will cost $20 per individual session, $60 for 1 month, or $150 for a 3 month program. A minimum of 4 students enrolled is required for the program. Students will be instructed in the basics of standup fighting, grappling, wrestling, and stick skills. Fighter commitment: At a MINIMUM, fighters will be expected to attend 2 of the 3 training sessions per week unless injured, released the week after a fight, or otherwise approved by Steve. In addition, fighters will be expected to attend and help instruct on 1 of the two days of beginner classes. Failure to train means no scheduled fights or cancellations of scheduled fights. Pro fighters will be put on contract before their pro debut. Our standard contract is 3 year duration, 15% of purse after a fighter reaches a purse of $1000. These fees can be waived if the fighter agrees to be available up to two times per month to cover days when Steve cannot be at the gym. Cornering and travel: Because the team is being invited to so many shows, Steve cannot attend all events. For those fighters that want to become active as corner men, there will be a stipend of $50-$100 for those events you cover. Stipend will depend on the promoter. Fundraising/Events: For those fighters and or individuals that volunteer to help or participate in events that are hosted by CMMA, all proceeds will be divided as follows: 25% of all revenue will be divided evenly among the volunteers and participants. Sport Specific/ Personal Training: Sessions will be scheduled by appointment. You can simply schedule a time or pick a specific instructor. I am very excited about the changes. I think that this restructuring is going to produce some amazing results within a short amount of time. I realize there will be a few growing pains, but my goal has always been the development of young fighters and martial artists. Let.s all pull together and make CMMA the envy of other fight teams. Time to beat some people up!!! -Steve
